Serving on the City Council will continue my more than 12 years of volunteering to make Benicia the best that it can be. As Matthew Turner PTA President, I lead a team that raised more than $100,000 annually to pay for new white boards, computers and a playground. As a Planning Commissioner, I voted for the health and safety of our community over Valero’s crude by rail expansion project.
In Benicia, it’s most important today that we plan for a sustainable tomorrow by diversifying our tax base, attracting new businesses to our town and proactively designing our vibrant future.
Unlike any other candidate, I have strongly supported the need for a local industrial safety ordinance since it was introduced to City Council. I was the first to oppose Valero’s crude by rail expansion project in 2016. I was the only candidate to help craft a sensible plan to bring lawful cannabis businesses to Benicia.
For more information on the experience that I will bring to City Council, here’s my resume.
